Happy Valentine's Day!! Usually I am not the kind of person who believes or celebrates Valentine's Day. But I just happened to fold this model around this time, I thought I will post it on this day.

I am not so happy with my folding. The finishing is not perfect and also I could not take a better photo with a nice view. I might revisit at a later point of time.
With 8 inch square sheet I was able to fold up to 6 layers. I tried folding with Origami kami paper but somehow I tend to tear it every time. Printer papers are relatively thicker but don't use extra thick.

Hydrangea with flowers
Happy Sankranti!!
After braided paper and Anrea's rose I folded Hydrangea flower. The last I folded this was in 2013. I was kind of skeptical whether I will be able to figure out or not. Initially I struggled, I tore paper or could not get more than 3 layers. After several attempts I was able to succeed.
The folding came out better than before. May be I am more experienced now, so the folding came out pretty neat. Then I went gung ho about Hydrangea and I could not stop myself with one or two. I ended up folding several. I posted some photos in my blog - Hydrangea by Shuzo Fujimoto.
Once I got a hang of Hydrangea, I tried Hydrangea with leaves.

Single sheet Origami
For the model in above picture I used color printer paper of 8 inch square. Fairly thin sheet is used. It's a pleasure to fold this model. Difficulty level is intermediate.
I also folded J.C. Nolan's Andrea's rose. Last time I folded was 8 years back. It's pretty similar to this model. I thoroughly enjoyed folding both of them. The updated photos can be seen in this link - Andrea's rose

I was making a kusudama after a very long gap. I didn't have hard time making the units. I took printer sheets for this. I prefer the thickness of printer sheets for a lot of models because the end product is sturdier compared to when done using kami. The third unit is a little hard to assemble. After assembling a couple of units I got the hang of it. When I was half way through, there were just six units left and the model was not converging. I realized I had assembled a hexagon at one place. I removed the pieces and corrected it. The end model is very stable and sturdy.

I wish everybody a Happy New Year 2021. I haven't been able to dedicate time for art. It had been nearly 6 months since I did sketching or Origami. We had a mandatory shutdown for Christmas and New Year. I could dust off the Origami papers and tried Butterfly Kusudama. I had already done one before. Here's the link - http://deepikart.blogspot.com/2018/01/butterfly-kusudama.html. I was out of shape, so it took me 3 days to complete each kusudama. I did two of the kusudamas. Gave the colorful kusudama to my aunt who appreciated it a lot. I tried with different color sheets but liked the kusudama done with same color. Here are some photos. This is one of my favorite kusudamas. It's a treat for eyes.
