New-Found Hope Star

Origami New-Found Hope Star by Andrey Hechuev

Paper used : 3 inch origami paper

Tutorial by EzOrigami:

This model has an interesting name, New-Found Hope. Well, I did this model after a long time hiatus, nearly two years. I had some bad memory associated with Origami. I threw away all my models that I folded and suspended any further folding. I thought I will never fold. Whenever my heart wished to fold, memories would say No and my hands would panic. Then I took up sketching and drawing. Well I don't have any formal training, it just clicked. And I drew lot many things (sometimes even I wondered how can I draw so many stuff???). Expressing all sorts of emotions - happiness, sadness, disappointment, depression, laughter, funny, not so funny, defeat, victory what not. All those expressions which lacked in origami. I thoroughly enjoyed drawing, I tried little bit of shading looking at youtube tutorials. Some are really challenging. One day I took a look at my blog, though I expressed emotions, they were all colorless. I realized my colorful blog has turned black and white. What an irony I felt. On one hand Origami is colorful but no emotions and on the other drawing is full of emotions but no color. May be each color represent a feeling or something like that. Hmmm...Art is certainly strange!!

When I started this blog, I had one thing in my mind - Not to write anything personal. Not to mix up art with personal stories. Till today I kept up my decision. However today I decided to write few lines.

I chose this model to come back with Origami since even I need some hope in my life right now. I don't know how much of art I will do, but I look forward to invest more time.
