Using Striped sonobe unit designed by Meenakshi Mukerji @origamee , instructions available in her book Marvelous Modular Origami.
It was a real pleasure folding these geometric models. For 60 units pentakis and 90 units sonobe , i had to use glue... I assembled both of them and when i was half way through, i decided it's getting unstable. So i ripped them apart and started using glue.
But it was a good experience.
For 12 units and 90 units sonobe I've used 5 cm square papers.
For 60 units pentakis I've used 7 cm paper.
For 30 unit sonobe, I've used 7.5 cm.
Papers used: I've used harmony, duo and kami papers.
360 units origami Torus using Phizz units designed by @tomstermath Thomas Hull
5 cm square papers used
No glue
Took nearly 5-6 days....
It took me sometime to analyse the structure.... On YouTube there's a video by @origamitor_ ..He explains beautifully how to assemble, and even has provided the pattern... It helped me a great deal....
I felt like I should've selected just 3 colours... That's 120 each.. because with colour change the assembly is a little confusing. It took me a while to get a hang of it...
However while connecting, i would get so frustrated that i felt like just throwing away and quitting.... π€£π€£ But i held myself together....
Connecting last molecule was a little tricky... But it's worth all the effort and sweat π¦π¦π¦ looks incredibly beautiful...
I selected 12 colour scheme. I didn't have enough papers.... So mix and matched whatever i was left with... Papers are from @tuttleorigami
Here's the video tutorial
I took a snapshot of the video and made a collage with the structure design. This helped me throughout to get overall picture.

Until next time, happy origami.... Sayonara π¦π¦π¦π¦

I first folded stellated dodecahedron. It's very easy to make single units. When it comes to assembly, i started without glue. But as i went on building, the model became unstable. The units would come apart. I had tough time keeping everything together. I tried a lot to achieve assembly without glue for quite sometime. Then i gave up. I used glue.
I then took up, 120 units polyhedron. I folded few units and tried assembly as a trial fold. It seemed stabler than 30 units. But when i actually started, this assembly also became a challenge. I almost lost my patience and threw the incomplete model in bin. After sometime i regained my cool π and took the half completed model from bin(which had dry waste, so model was intact and not dirty). I already had folded quite a lot of units, so I wanted to finish it somehow. So i went for glue and completed.
I personally dislike using glue, because it sticks to my hands and paper gets kind of wet, loses its crisp. It's a hassle to assemble. But when i have no other go, i use it.
That's the story behind these two models. Until next time , happy folding, Sayonara πππππ
