It's actually 16 units but I made 12 unit mandala. While assembling, I couldn't place the two units without the hearts overlapping. I tried for sometime but in vain. So I did my own assembly.

I used 1.75 x 3 inch papers from Tuttle
I first folded Sonobe icosahedron. I didn't want to post just the sonobe. I decided to fold 90 unit sonobe. Then realised it'll take time and the model will be very big. One unit requires two papers. So a 90 unit sonobe would've taken 180 units.
I then decided to do spiked pentakis dodecahedron with 60 units. Somehow i got lazy during the process. After nearly a month, last two days i made up my mind rigid and day for 3 hours each day to finish off.
When i took the photo, i was not happy how the spiked pentakis dodecahedron looked. The designs don't stand out due to patterns in the paper. The photo doesn't do justice you see. Anyhow, i finished this project.

It's my first video, so it might seem amateurish. In the video i have demonstrated a sonobe icosahedron.

I recently folded a family of striped sonobe which include spiked pentakis dodecahedron, 90 unit sonobe along with these three models.

Using Striped sonobe unit designed by Meenakshi Mukerji @origamee , instructions available in her book Marvelous Modular Origami.
It was a real pleasure folding these geometric models. For 60 units pentakis and 90 units sonobe , i had to use glue... I assembled both of them and when i was half way through, i decided it's getting unstable. So i ripped them apart and started using glue.
But it was a good experience.
For 12 units and 90 units sonobe I've used 5 cm square papers.
For 60 units pentakis I've used 7 cm paper.
For 30 unit sonobe, I've used 7.5 cm.
Papers used: I've used harmony, duo and kami papers.

Spiked pentakis dodecahedron
I had to scratch my head a little bit to understand this polyhedron. I'm glad i could figure out in the end...
I used basic sonobe unit to construct this.
60 units and 7 cm papers used
I tried to assemble as is but the units kept falling out. I went on for sometime and gave up and used glue.
