I had my eye on this design from a long time, but last time when I tried from the diagram I couldn't get the folds. Recently this week I tried and I could figure out. It's a wonderful model. I love it.
I took 4 inches of paper, totally 8 papers, no glue for assembly. Easy assembly.

I am tired of folding modulars. It can get monotonous because of the number of units one has to fold. In my origami community I'm almost typecasted as a modular girl and I do of course get lots of appreciation for my modulars. But I want to break that typecast and try something new.
This is a single sheet origami. I took 9 inch square sheet of paper. I would say this is high intermediate, at least for me.... Because I had to replay some of the steps several times. But for some of you it might be a cake walk.

I have used 4 inch size harmony paper. You get stunning looks. I have folded many 24 unit cubes but this time I ventured to assemble without glue. It was not so hard. It's a lovely design, I might make a sonobe icosahedron someday. Until then enjoy this cube.

I was tired of modular origami. I came across this beautiful snowflake designed by DΓ‘Ε‘a. It's an intermediate design. Lovely for Christmas and other holiday decoration.
I hope to fold more in the coming months.

I've been touring a lot these last few months.. I went to Thailand with my cousin and her friend's family, last year September end. I was in Thailand for my birthday, we didn't plan intentionally though.. it just happened. It was a fantastic trip, very memorable. We visited Pattaya and Bangkok.
Coming back, I went to Tamil Nadu kumbakonam with my yoga teacher's group, where we nearly saw 25 temples, then covered Chidambaram, brihadeshwara and Sri Rangam..... It was literally a temple run, I was tired by the end of the trip and feel sick.
Next month with the same yoga teacher's team I went to Kerala, Sri Adi Shankaracharya's birth places his father's place Kalady and mother's place Pirovam, then we saw Guruvayur, chota nikara.... After coming back I feel sick again...
In Feb I went to Odissa again the same yoga guru... We saw the very famous Puri Jagannath temple, Vishnu's alarnath temple, konark sun temple, Sakshi Gopal temple, Sri Adi Shankaracharya's ashram where there's vimala Devi's Shakti peetha... Throughout the trip my stomach was upset with indigestion.... Probably in Odissa I've spent most of the time in the bathroom than viewing temples.
All the places were so divine, lovely and memorable.
Because of my heavy duty trips, I didn't have time for origami. My health these days is not at all good... I suffer from complicated mental health issues. I'm taking baby steps everyday. Taking one day at a time. Life's challenging to me. Somedays I deal with it, somedays I give up. I just take anxiety pills. I carry it always in my purse. Basically life's fucked up royally..
I used to watch my origami community post so many of their works on Instagram. I would really miss origami. Today I spent sometime and folded this cracked sonobe also called as Russian sonobe.

I didn't have much patience today, so I shamelessly used glue for assembly.

These are Top 9 models from 2023, that got maximum likes on Instagram
2023 was a good year to me in terms of origami art. I folded several models, majority modular origami, in 2023. I folded Bucky balls that were in my to do list from a long time. I folded 120, 270 and 360 units Bucky balls using Thomas Hull's phizz units. I also ventured to fold torus ring using same phizz units by Thomas Hull. This is the highest polyhedra I've ever folded.
I also tried a spiked pentakis dodecahedron.
I also got a gig to conduct a workshop to kids of Salesforce employees.
It was a fantastic year for origami art.
In our origami community, every year end many of us posts a college of 9 of our best folds. Since this year I had folded quite a number of modulars, I made a college.
I wish every artists and non-artists a happy new year 2024
